Prayer

Prayer is a great privilege we have as believers.  The opportunity to call out to our Heavenly Father, and pour out our hearts, to the one who is always there to listen to us and answer us.  Through prayer we can be directed by the Holy Spirit who wants to guide us into all truth.  The resulting peace which the Lord grants us is like nothing the world can give.  In our days filled with much noise, it's good to quiet our soul and focus on the great and awesome God of the universe who is waiting to hear from us.  Along with the Psalmist in Psalm 66:19 we can say:  "But God has indeed heard me; he has listened to my prayer."  As we pray for our heavenly Father's will to be done and submit completely to Him, we will be changed into the image of His precious son, Jesus Christ.  Be diligent in prayer, keeping your eyes on Jesus, who spent much time with His Father, seeking His will in all things!

The Bible teaches us that followers of Christ should continually be in prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:16). However, not just individual prayer, but corporate (group) prayer is a feature of the New Testament. Great opportunities and movements of God happened after God’s people prayed (Acts 4:23-31).

Here are some opportunities available to pray together at The MET.
  • Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm there is a prayer gathering where people bring requests to God on behalf of fellow church-goers, MET ministries and MET missionaries. Prayer requests can be made to metprayers@sympatico.ca.
  • Every Community Group has the privilege of praying for each other and for the needs of their community and their adopted missionary family at their group meeting.
  • Sunday mornings, the prayer room is being used: by  a men’s prayer team before the Worship Service and by both men and women during each worship service to pray for the ministry of the Word as it is preached in the sanctuary.
  • Prayer ministry is available to all who request prayer and anointing for a specific physical, emotional or spiritual need according to James 5.  Please contact METCare to request this ministry.
  • All of the specialized small group ministries of the church, whether they meet on or off campus – have a vital prayer component in their times together.
