METCare

The scope of this multifaceted ministry is to provide individualized help and resources for people in and connected to our church family. Here are the ministries and resources available through METCare:

Contact Information

Please use the following contact information to inquire about any of the resources listed below.

Pastoral Lead:  Pastor Randy Jost • rjost@metbiblechurch.ca

METCare Office:

Emergency Contact

Emergency Contact: If you are facing an emergency crisis such as a death, serious illness or distress call 613-296-5136. Leave a clear voice message including your name, phone number and time of call.

Benevolence

Our church maintains a fund that is used exclusively to help those within our church family. If you or someone you know has need of short term or emergency financial assistance, please call or email your request for assistance. All information received is held in confidence and decisions on funding are made by our benevolent committee.  Email: benevolence@metbiblechurch.ca

Donations: If you would like to make a tax receiptable donation to the Benevolent Fund, make cheque payable to Metropolitan Bible Church and designate “Benevolent Fund”.

Financial Advice

If you are struggling with debts, investments or managing your finances please contact the METCare office. We have an experienced retired financial advisor available to assist you in addressing your financial concerns. All matters are handled confidentially and at no cost.

In addition, we offer a 6 week CAPMoney Course that takes place on Sunday mornings in the spring and fall.

Hospital Visitation

If you or someone you know is hospitalized, our Hospital Visitation Chaplains Kevin and Ethel Ferguson will arrange a visit.

Convalescence

Visits can be arranged for those recently discharged from hospital.

Casseroles of Compassion

Sometimes people face a difficult time when even making a meal is just too much. We have a supply of delicious, homemade casseroles at The MET that can be picked up or delivered.

METSeniors

Our church has a weekly seniors gathering every Thursday morning from 9:30 until 11:30 am at The MET from September to May. All those of retirement age are welcome.

Deacons Ministry

Our church Board has appointed approximately 40 people who are designated as official church representatives in our Deacon’s ministry. They are available for:

  • Visitation of shut-in and elderly people.
  • Prayer and Anointing Ministry:  If you are facing a health challenge and desire to receive prayer, please contact us to schedule a prayer session in your home or at the church.
  • Ordinances (Baptism and Communion):  Our Deacons oversee The MET’s Communion and Baptism Services. If you are seeking baptism (immersion only) please watch the bulletin for upcoming classes and dates.
    • If you would like Communion served in your residence please contact the METCare office.

Prayer Ministry

There are 2 ways to have your prayer request shared with the church family –

  • Our Midweek Prayer Ministry produces a prayer bulletin each week and gathers at the church Wednesdays at 7:00 pm to pray through it. Email your prayer concern to metprayers@sympatico.ca (share only non-confidential requests). The Prayer bulletin is also available at the Welcome Centre.
  • METKneemail is intended to handle emergency prayer requests that are shared with a team of 150 MET people committed to pray. Please send requests directly to Pastor Randy Jost.

Funeral Services

Nearing or upon the death of a loved one, please contact the METCare office to arrange for a funeral or memorial service.

Although families are free to make funeral arrangements with the funeral home of their choice, we have a relationship with Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery that offers MET families a 10% discount on preplanned funerals, and 5% at time of need.
