Leader Qualifications

  • Mature and growing follower of Jesus Christ (preferably for two years or more)
  • Recognize the Bible as the authority for their lives
  • Member of The MET (or willing to become one)
  • Committed to the purpose and reflects the values of The MET
  • Genuine love for people with demonstrated relational skills
  • Ability to both challenge and encourage others in their walk with the Lord
  • Humble demeanor and teachable spirit; consistent and reliable
  • Good verbal skills and possesses the ability to communicate in such a way that is clear and understandable with warmth and graciousness
  • Solid reputation (above reproach) inside and outside the church meeting
  • Willing to be judged with greater strictness as a leader in the church (James 3:1)
  • Ability to lead 8-16 people
  • Have Community Group experience (preferably)
  • Agree to come under the Community Group structure


Leader Responsibilities

Care for and lead your community group toward growth as disciples of Jesus. Although you are not required to be the agent of the following for every member of your group, you should take responsibility that it is occurring.

Lead your group in mission of the church.

Organize and plan so that your group functions well.


Leader Equipping

The ongoing development and equipping of a leader can be broken down into 3 opportunities:

  1. Sync: Ongoing monthly training 
  2. Coaching: Coaching relationship are the perpetual on call resource for help and assistance 
  3. Equipping Events: yearly training sessions (varies by year)
