What to Expect

If you are joining us for the first time, here are some things you might find interesting about our church:

Service Times and Parking

We host two morning worship services on Sunday at 9:00 am and 11:00 am. We provide free parking and a complimentary shuttle service for those who may require assistance traveling to church.

Arriving at The MET

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by members of our church family and they can direct you to our place of worship, the Sanctuary. When you enter the worship service, you will be given a printed church “bulletin” which provides an overview of Sunday’s events as well as the upcoming church activities for the week.  Our bulletin is also available online, click here to access.  Need wifi?  Sign in as Guest; password is met@church.

People with disabilities will find that The MET is fully accessible in a number of key areas throughout the church. Here is an overview of the places that you will find accessibility. Please note that our front church entrance can accommodate larger vans as well as Para Transpo vehicles.

  • All entrances into the church (there are a number around the building and close to all parking).
  • All main washrooms, including two handicap washrooms on the main level
  • Seating for wheelchairs can be found at the back of the lower level of our Sanctuary. Please ask a greeter for assistance.
  • An accessible elevator from main floor to our second floor (where you will find the Metro Café, classrooms, etc.)
  • Wide hallways

For a more comprehensive guide to the MET's accessibility please read our Accessibility Policy.

The Sunday Morning Worship Service

Our Sunday morning worship service begins with a time of worship through live music. You are invited to sing along with the guidance of our worship leader and the lyrics that are posted on our screens.

A member of our pastoral team will pray with us and also bring family news from our church community. A time of offering will take place which allows the church family to give their weekly financial gifts. As a visitor we do not ask for you to give, just that you complete the ‘Connection Card in your church bulletin and place this in the offering plate as it goes by.

The day's message will then be given. We encourage everyone to open a Bible (available at The MET or you may bring your own) during the service in order to follow along and to improve your understanding of the message. We end with a time of prayer and some additional music. Anyone who wants to pray with someone after the service is encouraged to do so with a member of our pastoral team. You can find them at the front of the Sanctuary after the service.

A Place for Children

If you have children, we welcome you to have them join our worship services. We do provide a live video feed of the service in the Fellowship Centre as well as the Parents’ Room if your child is a little fussy or needs to be actively moving about! We have a very rich Children’s Ministry at The MET that includes Sunday school classes for children of all ages. Please visit the Children’s Ministry section of our website to learn more about what is available for your young family members at The MET.

What to Wear to Church

Often newcomers and first-time visitors are not sure what to wear to church. At The MET we believe that attending church is the most important decision for the day, and we want you to dress in a manner that is comfortable for you. A wide range of styles from casual, to moderately dressy to business-style are all fine.

The MET Connections Hub

Located in the centre of the main foyer, “The Hub” is a friendly place to meet and get to know MET folks for a welcome gift, some coffee or tea and a time to chat with our hosts who are anxious to help you navigate the sometimes challenging transition from Newcomer to part of The MET family. We want to know you and serve you, so please find us on Sundays after each morning service.

For those who are more familiar with The MET or regular attendees, we have an Information Kiosk right beside The Connections Hub. If you have questions you need an answer to or queries about an upcoming event, specific program, a class you’d like to join, or even how to find your way around The MET, stop at the Kiosk and one of our church family helpers will assist you!
