Bible Translation for the Buksa People | Target: $10,000

Bringing God’s Word to the Unreached

Join us in translating the Psalter and the New Testament into the language of the Buksa people in North India, an unreached group hungry for God’s Word. We are delighted to be able to celebrate our missionaries throughout our Missions Conference. Each ministry will be welcoming a missionary into their regular program with the desire to not only celebrate our wonderful missionaries, but also to give each missionary the opportunity to share what God at work their missions field. Besides that, we have several other events open to all as a congregation. Consider joining us for one or more of the events listed below. Click each event title below to learn more!

 

Sunday, November 3

8:30AM, 10:30AM or 12:30PM | Opening, Message by Ajith Fernando

Hear from our keynote speaker, Dr. Ajith Fernando, an esteemed Christian author and Teaching Director of Youth for Christ, Sri Lanka, as we consider the theme, “Good News from the Global South”. Four of our Met Missionaries will also be available to connect with in the lobby following each service. Be sure to take a moment to introduce yourself and hear a bit of their story and sign up for their newsletters if you’d like to hear more!

5:30PM | Cultural Dinner

We look forward to the opportunity to share a meal together at our annual missions dinner. Registration is required for the dinner, which starts at 5:30 pm, but all are welcome to join for the special program afterward at 6:45 pm in the sanctuary!

6:45PM | Global South Special Evening

We were thrilled by the success and interest in our cultural evening at the 2023 missions conference. This year we invite you to join us for another exciting evening that you won’t want to miss as we focus on the work that God is doing in the global south. We look forward to a time of special music, testimonies from missionaries, children’s program, a featured song from our Executive and Missions Pastor, and a challenging message from our keynote speaker, Dr. Ajith Fernando. Join us in the sanctuary at 6:45 pm. All are welcome to join for the program with no registration required.

Monday, November 4

6:30PM | Missions Documentary

Come with your family and watch a special 1-hour-long missions documentary called “Light in the Darkness” at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary, that will help you appreciate the way God is at work in the world, move you to pray for the unreached, while also encouraging you to reach out to the lost around you! The heartwarming testimonies will refresh in your faith in the God of all Nations! Come by 6:20 pm and take your spot in the sanctuary! You don’t want to miss this!

Tuesday, November 5

6:30PM | METYouth Junior High & High School

Jeremy and Lindsay Brazeau will share with our Junior High and High School students about the work taking place in Papua Indonesia and how God is using their skills and experience to support the wider missions community.

Wednesday, November 6

9:30AM | METWomen AM

Hear from K.B. who serves in India about how God is working in this area, as well as how the Lord led Lindsay Brazeau towards missions in Papua Indonesia.

7:00PM | METMen & METWomen Combined Dessert Night

METWomen and METMen’s Fellowship will come together for a time of dessert and fellowship with our missionaries, followed by breakout sessions from A.B (India)., Jeremy and Lindsay Brazeau (Papua Indonesia), John and Jennifer (Africa), and Ruben and Graciela Matos (Peru). You can attend as a couple, or choose your own missionary to go and hear from!

Thursday, November 7

9:30AM | METSeniors Missions Focus & Lunch

METSeniors are invited to a morning of prayer for world missions, followed by an inspiring message from Ruben Matos, who serves as Director of Word of Life in Peru. Lunch will follow in the gym.

6:30PM | Awana

AWANA Clubs will each have an opportunity to hear about what God is doing through the work of Met Missionaries.

7:00PM | MET Young Adults

Met Young Adults will be joined by A.B. who serves as a pastor at a local church in India and will share insights on how the good news is spreading throughout this area of the global south. He will also challenge the YAs on the way God still calls people for cross-cultural missions!

Friday, November 8

7:00PM | Christian Service Brigade

CSB will enjoy stories and discussions about missions work around the world.
